Fiksu's Android trackers confirm Samsung's market dominance, showing the South Korean manufacturer accounting for 66 percent of the Android devices in the sample. They also reflect the full spectrum of Android operating systems in use, showing Android 4.4 KitKat leading at 57 percent. Device data shows the Samsung Galaxy S4 in the top spot for phone usage at 13 percent of phones sampled, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (7-inch) is the most-used Android tablet at 19 percent of tablets.

Data for the trackers is sourced from apps using the Fiksu SDK that report in-app events including app launches, in-app purchases and registrations. Data is sampled hourly in batches of approximately 10M events and filtered to count unique devices.
