Powerball(R) Jackpot Leaps to $380 Million, Highest Jackpot in a Year


PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwired - Feb 6, 2015) - The Arizona Lottery announces the Powerball jackpot has reached $380 million. This marks the sixth largest Powerball jackpot in U.S. history and the largest Powerball jackpot in the past year.

"We are elated with how high the jackpot has rolled," said Karen Bach, director of budget, products, and communications for the Arizona Lottery. "We are excited at the possibility of creating more millionaires here in Arizona."

The Powerball jackpot has been rapidly increasing since early December. Over the past month, Arizona players have won nearly $3 million in cash prizes, including two second prize $1 million dollar winners. The game's record jackpot is a $590.5 million prize won in Florida in May 2013.

The next Powerball drawing will be held on Feb. 7. Tickets can be purchased at any Arizona Lottery retailer. Players can check their tickets by visiting ArizonaLottery.com.

Players must be 21 years or older to purchase or redeem tickets. Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize at an Arizona Lottery office or by mail. Overall odds vary by game.
