Canadian Metals Announces Michel Gueguin Appointment as a Director


MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Feb. 16, 2015) - Canadian Metals Inc. ( The "Corporation") (CSE:CME) is pleased to announce that Michel Gueguin., has joined Canadian Metals as an independent member of its Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Michel Guéguin, holder of Doctorat d'Etat in inorganic chemistry from the University of Rennes (France) within our board of directors ' After five years as a researcher at the Centre National de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS ), Michel has spent his entire industrial career at the research center of QIT Iron & Titanium in Sorel-Tracy today known as the Technology Center RIO TINTO Iron & Titanium (RTIT) . First Principal to supervise the chemistry department and Principal Chemist to finally finish his career as Scientific Advisor highest scientific position in the company. During its many functions Michel has spent nearly forty years researching on the main product of the company Titanium slag known worldwide as the SORELSLAG. Michel has been the pioneer in the chlorination of titanium slag in the early 1970s, essential step of the chloride process for producing titanium dioxide pigment. In 1976, following his pioneering work, has started the construction of a second titanium slag smelter in South Africa, with a production capacity of one million tons of slag since 1989. Michel has also developed a unique expertise and is globally recognized in the field and he assured for decades the technical service to customers using the slag as raw material for their sulphate process to produce titanium dioxide pigment (TiO2) . Designer and co-inventor of UGS process to enrich Sorelslag, the process was crowned by the construction in Sorel-Tracy of a world class plant with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons which has been in operation since 1998. Michel was the inventor of ten patents. He is a member in good standing of the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC) since 1968.
