Pushups for Charity Event Kicks Off Nationwide May 16 With P90X Creator, Tony Horton, Benefitting Non-Profit That Raises Money for Veterans and Active Duty Service Members

Open Registration for Teams Starts February 16, 2015

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 17, 2015) - Online registration is now open for the Boot Campaign's 4th annual Pushups for Charity series, kicking off on Armed Forces Day, May 16th. This year, the Boot Campaign is collaborating with Tony Horton, fitness guru and creator of P90X, to encourage Americans across the nation to join the movement and complete as many pushups as possible in 90 seconds. Pushups for Charity aims to raise both awareness of military challenges and funds for veterans, active duty service members and their families. Last year alone, Pushups for Charity participants helped the Boot Campaign provide over $500K in urgent financial assistance, $750k for housing assistance and $564K towards wellness and family initiatives to help our warriors have a more successful transition back into civilian life.

Tony Horton will be joining the ranks of past celebrity PUC supporters including, Randy Couture, Zac Brown Band, Lorenzo Lamas, LeeAnn Tweeden, Katy Segal, Robert Patrick, Alan Covert, Marcus Luttrell, Navy SEAL (Ret) author of Lone Survivor. This year Tony Horton and Boot Campaign Executive Director of Marketing Joey Jones will lead the Pushups for Charity kickoff on May 16th. Joey Jones is a retired United States Marine combat amputee who served in Iraq and Afghanistan as an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) disposal technician until he was wounded in 2010. Horton and Jones appear in a fresh, fun PSA on the Pushups for Charity website.

Pushups for Charity wraps September 19th with The Final Push on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. Teams around the country will join in remotely on this day to do even more pushups to support the campaign.
