Caribou Yields Up to 99.4% Graphitic Carbon From Its Remaining Initial Purity Tests

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Feb. 17, 2015) - CARIBOU KING RESOURCES LTD. ("Caribou" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:CKR)(FRANKFURT:CB8) is pleased to announce purity results of up to 99.4% graphitic carbon from its first beneficiation test conducted by SGS Canada Inc. (Lakefield) on the 100% owned Buckingham flake/lump graphite property.

The 2 kilogram (kg) surface sample was taken from a vein discovered during an initial beep mat and prospecting survey undertaken to test continuity from the nearby past producing Walker graphite mine. Several graphitic veins were exposed on this initial campaign located on the southeast portion of the Buckingham property - this area of the property will now be referred to as the "Uncle" discovery. To date, graphite veins sampled at Buckingham have returned sample assays in the 17-81% Cg range (press release November 14, 2013).

Initial testing from the first sample, with a head grade of 55.8% Cg (57.9% total C), was concentrated by grinding and flotation and was further divided into ten size fractions, including: +28 (Super Jumbo Flake), +35 (Jumbo Flake), +48 (Jumbo Flake) and +65 mesh (Large Flake).

Results have now demonstrated that these above mentioned concentrate fractions, ranging from large flake to super jumbo flake, total 46.7% of the sample. Large flakes size (+65 mesh or > 212 microns) returned 98.4 % Cg with the highest assay of 99.4 % Cg being returned from the +48 mesh fraction. Results of combined concentrates are listed in the following table:

Initial Flotation Test Results: Combine concentrates

Concentrate Fraction Distribution (%) Assay (% Cg)
+28 mesh 2.2 98.9
+35 mesh 9.5 98.4
+48 mesh 17.2 99.4
+65 mesh 18.6 98.4
+100 mesh 14.2 97.0
+150 mesh 11.4 97.1
+200 mesh 6.0 97.0
+270 mesh 4.5 96.2
+400 mesh 5.9 95.1
-400 mesh 10.5 92.4
Total recovery (%) 100.0
*Flotation test analysis from a 1kg portion of the 2kg bulk sample.

These results were obtained in a single flotation test without process optimization.

Caribou King is now discussing with SGS the best way to optimise samples to their highest possible quality in order to verify if Buckingham graphite would qualify for valuable uses such as electric vehicles battery technology or nuclear reactor core.

Michael B. England, CEO & Director of Caribou King stated, "These are exciting times for Caribou. Buckingham is quickly showing us it is a very pure, high purity graphite project with graphite content of at least 98.4% coming from 28 to 65 (large to jumbo) mesh tests."

All carbon analyses were performed by SGS Canada Inc. (Lakefield) and are reported as graphitic carbon Cg employing a LECO SC-632 instrument.

Isabelle Robillard, P. Geo #287 (an Associate of Inlandsis Consultants s.e.n.c.), an Independent Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed the metallurgical balance sheet and assay results produced by SGS Canada Inc. (Lakefield) approved the technical information provided in this news release.

About the Buckingham Property

The 100% owned Buckingham Graphite property, covers 480 hectares and is located 7km northwest of Buckingham, Quebec, Canada. Well-maintained bush roads lead directly to the sampled showing and throughout the property. The property is comprised of eight claim blocks within the Central Metasedimentary Belt of the Grenville Geologic Province with graphite occurring in veins and masses within pegmatite, diopside skarn, marble and gneiss.
