BoomWriter Media, Inc. Partners With Hollywood

Skrawl and Celebrities Create New Destination for Fan Fiction

MILTON, MA--(Marketwired - Feb 18, 2015) - BoomWriter Media, Inc. today announced two partnerships on its collaborative consumer writing application, Skrawl. Hollywood Deal Maker and child actor Jeff Cohen and actress Trisha Hershberger have teamed up with BoomWriter Media to spearhead its move into the fan fiction space.

"Fueled in recent years by the devotion of fans and technology, Skrawl has created the best destination for fan fiction enthusiasts everywhere," offered BoomWriter Media CEO Chris Twyman. "Jeff provides us the knowledge, expertise and network necessary for executing our vision in this market."

The sprawling fan fiction groups of the internet cover everything from films to TV shows to pop stars, and the strongest tend to cluster around imaginative teenage fiction such as Harry Potter and the Twilight series. It's from these groups that Fifty Shades of Grey has emerged, in the original version, entitled Master of the Universe and signed "Snowqueen's Icedragon," the lead characters were Stephenie Meyer's Edward and Bella, their names later changed for publication.

"Skrawl is the future for creative interaction between celebrities and fans," added Cohen, who played the ever popular Chunk in the Steven Spielberg movie Goonies. "I can't wait for the first BoomWriter Media movie production."

Trisha Hershberger, actress and fan fiction maven, has just launched a new Lord of the Rings spin off story on Skrawl that has already seen writers from around the globe competing and winning bits of this new story. Trisha commented, "I started a Skrawl on Bilbo Baggin's mother Belladonna and I can't believe the quality of the writing I am seeing!"

"Unlike other fan fiction sites that are comprised mostly of readers, Skrawl is a platform specifically developed for writers," said Twyman. "And as publishers hunger for popular content while cutting promotional budgets, such ready-formed, literate and eBook submissions are likely to become a great place to find talent."

Skrawl will be releasing new features over the next few months including a royalty program for writers, a mobile reader, deeper social media integrations, and a new self-publishing tool. For more information on Skrawl, please visit http://www.skrawl.com.
