SPYRUS Announces Support for Windows To Go 10 Preview

New SPYRUS Software Provisions Unique Data Protection Features for Deployment of SPYRUS Bootable USB 3.0 Live Drives

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 18, 2015) - SPYRUS, the technology leader developing the world's most secure Windows To Go live drives, today announced the release of WTG Creator 4.2 for provisioning SPYRUS USB 3.0 Windows To Go drives certified by Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) for the Windows 10 Preview. This provisioning software, which is also certified for Windows 8.0 and 8.1, significantly expands the existing capabilities of the Microsoft Windows to Go Creator Wizard to incorporate features unique to SPYRUS' groundbreaking line of Windows To Go live drives currently shipping in sizes from 32 GB through 512 GB.

In addition to an expanded highly interactive user interface, SPYRUS WTG Creator 4.2 supports the simultaneous provisioning of multiple SPYRUS WTG drives, creation of unique-to-SPYRUS features including Read-Only versions which do not allow persistent storage or changes of onboard data to help protect secure remote access against malware and data leakage, and DataVault™ secondary storage compartments for secure file sharing between WTG and host platform domains. WTG Creator 4.2 also adds support for international keyboards under the SPYRUS ToughBoot™ boot loader for the hardware-encrypting drives. The SPYRUS WTG Creator scripts can also be configured to provision SPYRUS WTG drives using System Center 2012 R2.

"The release of SPYRUS WTG Creator 4.2 expands the continually developing SPYRUS security ecosystem for Windows To Go products and technologies. The combination of SPYRUS technical leadership, hardware security, optional onboard FIPS 140-2 Level 3 PKI capabilities, SSD performance, and support for Windows 10 along with drive capacities up to 512 GB makes the SPYRUS USB 3.0 drive family the premier choice for Windows To Go platforms," said Tom Dickens, SPYRUS COO. "By using the new features, corporations can realize significant cost savings by securely supporting a mobile workforce in BYOD and Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) deployments. Other benefits include the rapid, cost-effective provisioning and decommissioning of teams of outsourced developers and contractors globally, and much faster response times for disaster recovery and business operations continuity."

SPYRUS WorkSafe Pro Windows To Go devices are extremely cost effective as four-in-one devices.

  • Use as a Windows To Go device and boot securely from the hardware encrypted compartment
  • Use the embedded FIPS 140-2 Level 3 smart card security controller as a public key token for two-factor authentication.
  • If the optional Data Vault compartment is enabled, plug into a booted Windows host computer and use as a hardware encrypted data storage token.
  • If the Read Only feature is enabled, use as a hardware encrypted thin client for remote access

SPYRUS WTG Creator 4.2 software maintains compatibility with the optional SPYRUS Enterprise Management System (SEMS) to provide a very cost-effective coordinated means to provision, set policies and deploy large groups of devices throughout the organization and all its locations. With SEMS remote device management, enterprise administrators can centrally register, block/unblock, revoke, set policies, audit, and "kill" SPYRUS Windows To Go drives.
