Dedicated Site Highlights Value CPAs Provide to Small Business Owners

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Feb 19, 2015) - The American Institute of CPAs has launched cpapowered.org underscoring the value CPAs provide to the nation's 28 million small businesses on strategic planning, compliance reporting and financial management. This is an expansion of AICPA's #CPAPOWERED campaign, begun last year, highlighting CPAs' expertise.

Small businesses account for some 60% of all new jobs since the end of the recession, according to the federal Small Business Administration. Yet only about half survive longer than 5 years. A seasoned, expert financial adviser is critical to business survival, and a CPA can help.

This year's #CPAPOWERED campaign focuses on informative videos, "CPA Secrets to a Better Business," offering tips for small business owners on seeking financing, keeping critical data secure, understanding health insurance, and more. Two videos -- Acquiring Financing and Preventing Employee Theft -- are currently available on cpapowered.org, along with articles, checklists and other tools. Additional videos and materials will be rolled out in the coming months.

"Small businesses should know they don't have to go it alone," said Mark Koziel, CPA, CGMA, the AICPA's VP of firm services and global alliances. "When you're #CPAPOWERED, you have a trusted business adviser at your side."

Cpapowered.org offers a starting point for small businesses to learn the advantages of working with a CPA and even helps find them a local CPA. Visit cpapowered.org to learn more.
