Schneider Electric Selects Flexera Software's Software Monetization Platform Across Its Traditional and Digital Software Businesses

Implementing the FlexNet Producer Suite Best-of-Breed Solution Will Help Reduce Costs and Increase Flexibility to Quickly Adapt and Take Advantage of New Business Opportunities

ITASCA, IL--(Marketwired - February 19, 2015) - Flexera Software, provider of next-generation software licensing, compliance and installation solutions for application producers and enterprises, announced that Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, has selected the FlexNet Producer Suite Software Monetization solution, to reduce costs and increase flexibility -- in turn delivering more value to customers.

"Schneider Electric utilizes business applications heavily in our software and cloud augmented products, intelligent hardware systems and solutions," said Alfons Marquez, Vice President Digital & Software Domain at Schneider Electric. "We are pleased to partner with Flexera Software and look forward to leveraging their considerable expertise in Software Monetization. Simplified licensing, faster provisioning, improved usage visibility, and the ability to propose the right solutions based on usage are just some of the capabilities we expect to be able to bring to our customers through the implementation of this suite."

In this rapidly changing market, Schneider Electric needed a Software Monetization solution that would give the company flexibility to quickly adapt and take advantage of new business opportunities such as the Internet of Things by standardizing software licensing, entitlement management and delivery onto a single, consolidated platform across its traditional and digital software business.

Schneider Electric opted to implement a best-of-breed Software Monetization solution with proven technology that delivered the automation they needed. After an extensive evaluation process, Schneider Electric selected FlexNet Producer Suite -- consisting of FlexNet Licensing to automate software licensing, FlexNet Operations Cloud for back office entitlement management and customer self-service, and FlexNet Connect for automated updates and in-product analytics on how customers use the software. Once implemented, Schneider Electric will be able to roll out a single, corporate standard for licensing and entitlement management across all of its hardware and software products, better enabling it to increase business model flexibility and customer service.

"Application producers increasingly recognize they must go to market faster with differentiated product offerings while ensuring they are fairly compensated for their efforts. At the same time, they must have the systems in place to track and manage their customers effectively while delivering a positive customer experience," said Vincent Smyth, Senior Vice President, EMEA at Flexera Software. "The Software Monetization systems producers put into place to manage these processes are critical to these go to market plans. We're thrilled that Schneider Electric has partnered with Flexera Software to support its aggressive growth plans."
