Patterson Intellectual Property Law Welcomes Grant Ford to Firm

NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwired - Mar 11, 2015) - Attorney Grant Michael Ford has joined Patterson Intellectual Property Law as an associate. His practice will focus on the protection of inventions relating to electronic and computer technologies. 

"Grant's training in computer engineering and prior experience as a patent attorney and Patent Examiner are valuable assets to our clients," said Mark Patterson, founder and shareholder, who leads the firm's electrical and computer technologies practice. "We have clients developing advanced hardware and software in lighting, alternative energy, automotive service, and power electronics. Grant's experience and skill set fit well with what these clients need from a patent firm."

Ford was previously an associate at Sughrue Mion, PLLC, in Washington, D.C., where he prosecuted U.S. patent applications in technology areas that included computer systems, networking, software, and display devices. He served as a patent specialist at KORUS Patent, LLC, in Lisle, IL, where he was responsible for drafting, editing and prosecuting U.S. patent applications. He spent five years in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a Patent Examiner focused on computer networking arts.

Ford is a 2013 graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology -- Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Patent Office Practice. He holds a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from the University of Tennessee. 

He is a junior member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
