Fish & Richardson Principal Indranil Mukerji Named to "Power List" by Lawyers of Color

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - Mar 12, 2015) - Fish & Richardson announced today that Indranil "Indy" Mukerji, a principal in the firm's Washington, D.C., office, has been named to the fourth annual "Power List" by Lawyers of Color. This is the second consecutive year that Mukerji has been named to the list, which includes the nation's most influential minority attorneys and non-minority legal diversity advocates. Mukerji will be featured in the Power Issue 2015 and will be honored at a reception on March 18, 2015 in Washington, D.C.

At Fish, Mukerji focuses on litigating complex patent cases in federal courts around the country in a wide variety of technologies, including electrical and computer software and hardware. Mukerji's representation of multiple defendants in high-profile patent cases has set a precedent for how multi-defendant cases are litigated in federal courts. Mukerji also counsels clients and manages patent and intellectual property portfolios for clients ranging in size from start-ups to global corporations.

"This is a great honor for Indy and we are very proud that he was singled out for this recognition," said Peter J. Devlin, president of Fish & Richardson. "An accomplished patent litigator, Indy has handled cutting-edge cases that have helped shape patent law. He is also deeply committed to advancing diversity, which is critically important for the future of the legal profession."

Mukerji is a member of Fish's Internal Communications Diversity Workgroup, which oversees diversity-related communication and training. He also is involved in Fish's 1L Diversity Fellowship Program, which recruits diverse first year law school students from across the country and provides paid summer associate positions, scholarships, and mentoring. Outside the office, he is an active member of the South Asian Bar Association of North America and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

In 2011, Mukerji was the only patent litigator named to the "Minority 40 Under 40" list by the National Law Journal. He was named a Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers "Rising Star" in 2013 and 2014. Mukerji received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1999, and both his M.E. (1996) and B.S. (1995) in biological engineering from Cornell University.
