Med Ad News Announces Finalists for the 2015 Manny Awards as Well as Industry Person of the Year, Joshua Prince, and Recognizes Cycle for Survival's Battle Against Rare Cancers

LIVINGSTON, NJ--(Marketwired - Mar 20, 2015) - Med Ad News, the leading pharmaceutical business and marketing publication, announces the nominees for the 26th Annual Manny Awards, A Rare Event, celebrating the best in pharmaceutical and healthcare advertising, and announces Joshua Prince as the Industry Person of the Year. The Manny Awards annual gala event celebrates creative excellence in healthcare advertising and communications. More than 600 industry peers are expected to join Med Ad News in honoring winners across eight creative award categories, in addition to naming the year's Most Creative Agency, Most Admired Agency, Brand Team of the Year, Agency of the Year I, II and III, and Best Video Submission. The Manny Awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers in New York City.

The Manny Awards also continues its tradition of honoring the agency community for their exceptional forward thinking and philanthropic efforts. The Vision Award recognizes exceptional ideas and initiatives that have the power to transform the way that healthcare communications agencies do business. The Heart Award was created by the Med Ad News editorial staff to recognize agencies' social responsibility and commitment to philanthropic and social causes. All three finalists selected will receive a cash donation to their respective causes.

This year, Med Ad News will recognize Cycle for Survival, the national, community-led movement to beat rare cancers. About half of all cancer patients are fighting a rare cancer, and they often face limited or no treatment options. Since 2007, Cycle for Survival has raised more than $76 million through its signature indoor team cycling events across the U.S. to help fund pioneering rare cancer research led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, which owns and operates Cycle for Survival. Together with the movement's founding partner, Equinox, Cycle for Survival has supported innovative clinical trials, research studies, and major research initiatives. 100 percent of every donation funds rare cancer research.

Med Ad News is pleased to also recognize Josh Prince, President of the CDM Group, as the 2015 Industry Person of the Year. Josh possesses a rare ability to not only drive our industry forward, but also do it all in a way that leaves nothing but motivated and grateful people in his wake. Before becoming President of the CDM Group in 2013, he spent the bulk of his previous years as Creative Director. In that role, he had a direct hand in some of the most iconic work and notable brands in the industry, most notably, Viagra. More recently, Josh founded the groundbreaking partnership between the CDM Group and the consumer agency BBDO. The partnership, called HealthWork, draws on the deep scientific experience of the CDM Group, and the extraordinary consumer prowess of BBDO, to deliver completely integrated direct-to-consumer campaigns, including the highly awarded Tamiflu spot. Josh also worked across pharmaceutical companies in his leadership of the breakthrough campaign for PhRMA's "Partnership for Prescription Assistance" effort to help Americans with little or no insurance get their medicines.

The honor recognizes Prince's business leadership and commitment to the healthcare communications industry; he was chosen based in part on the testimonials of current and former employees, agency peers, and industry clients who praised his leadership skills, infectious charisma, creative vision, boundless energy, extreme intelligence, and as the ultimate developer of professional colleagues.
