VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - March 23, 2015) - More nominations, more industries, more diversity -- and more stereotype-busting evidence that Millennials are ready to revolutionize B.C. business (and maybe just change the world). The second annual BCBusiness 30 Under 30 list is unveiled today and an event celebrating the winners will be held on April 28.
"It's not just start-ups and entrepreneurs," says BCBusiness Editor-in-Chief Matt O'Grady, though the list boasts technology innovators like wearable-monitoring pioneer Clad Innovations (2015 winner: co-founder Laura Moe) and the buzzy sharing app ShareShed (2015 winner: founder Daniel Dubois).
"This year we have winners from retail, design and the not-for-profit sector. It's a sign of how diverse B.C.'s economy is becoming." Health care and pharmaceuticals, insurance, media, accounting and engineering are among the more traditional professions getting a jolt of ingenuity from this year's winners.
The list is as diverse as the industries represented, almost equally split between exceptional young men and women, and also featuring cultural emissaries like Claudia Li (founder of the Hua Foundation, strengthening Chinese culture, heritage and sustainability) Bryce Williams (chief of the Tsawwassen First Nation).
The BCBusiness 30 Under 30 event on April 28th will be held at The Vancouver Club, where these young corporate raiders converged this spring for a stunning photo and video shoot that captures them straight-shooting at billiards, plotting chess moves and networking like seasoned pros.
