TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 23, 2015) - DHL, the world's leading logistics provider and the Official Logistics Partner for World MasterCard Fashion Week, has announced that Canadian designers will soon have the opportunity to apply to DHL Exported, the innovative global platform that offers regionally established designers the opportunity to expand their businesses internationally. The first year of the program was an incredible success and DHL is proud to launch the second year of the program this summer.

In its first year, DHL Exported, created in collaboration with IMG Fashion, saw designers Francesca Liberatore, Hakaan Yildirim, Christopher and Nicholas Kunz and Henry Holland leave their home turf for the opportunity to further their brand footprint in one of four international markets.

"For several decades, DHL has been proudly helping fashion designers and retailers meet the demands of the fast-paced and hyper-competitive fashion sector, with specific logistics solutions, business mentorship and support for key industry events," said Andrew Williams, CEO of DHL Express Canada. "We are thrilled with DHL Exported's success thus far and are excited to provide Canadian designers with this same opportunity. Mark your calendars to apply this summer."

The designers received a fully produced runway show for two consecutive seasons along with marketing and PR as well as logistics support for the duration of the program. As part of the program, Francesca Liberatore debuted her collection at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, Hakaan Yildirim showed at London Fashion Week, Christopher and Nicholas Kunz at the Milan Fashion Week, and Henry Holland collection was debuted at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo. DHL Exported designer shows involved up to 100 shipments each that were provided by DHL.

"As the world's leading producer, marketer and partner to the international fashion community we were thrilled to join DHL in offering a new avenue for Canada's fashion talent to reach a global audience," says Carolyn Quinn, Director, IMG Fashion Canada. "We are delighted that DHL has decided to continue this program and support in the advancement of the fashion industry at home and abroad."
