1. Ride the Train. The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad has daily trips to Cascade Canyon until May 2 when regular service to Silverton begins. Try a themed excursion: The Peanuts™ The Easter Beagle Express or The Blues Train.

2. Go for a Hike. From a stroll to a hike, more than 300 miles of trails within 30 minutes of downtown. 

3. Take a Drive. The San Juan Skyway, a Scenic and Historic Byway, loops from Durango to Telluride to Mesa Verde National Park and back to Durango. 

4. Liquid Entrepreneurs. Durango is home to six award-winning craft breweries: Animas Brewing Company, Ska, Carver Brewing Company, Brew Pub and Kitchen, Durango Brewing Company and SteamWorks.

8. Celebrate the Animas River. Celebrate the picturesque river that runs through town at the 33rd annual Animas River Days, May 28-31. 

9. Drop a Line. Spring fishing in Durango kicks off with the Duranglers Fly-Fishing Festival April 3-4. The Gold Medal Waters of the Animas River are a haven for the caddis hatch.
