The Quebec Chapter of FEI Canada Announces the 8 Finalists in the 2015 "Aces of Finance" Competition

An outstanding group that will make for an exciting competition


MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - March 24, 2015) - The Québec Chapter of Financial Executives International Canada, an all-industry professional association for senior financial executives, is proud to announce the names of the eight finalists in the 2015 "Aces of Finance" competition (www.feicanada.org/quebec). Presided over this year by honorary chairman the Honorable Michael M. Fortier, PC, Vice Chairman at RBC Capital Markets and former government minister, the competition was open to all chief financial officers, vice presidents of finance and senior financial executives across Québec, whether or not they are members of FEI Canada. This prestigious competition aims to recognize the professional achievements and community engagement of three outstanding financial executives. It also underlines the vital role they play within their organization and their strategic contribution to its success.

The names of the winners will be revealed at a gala evening on May 7 in Montreal.

From among all the candidates, the organizing committee selected eight finalists working in various sectors:

"Financial executive of a large corporation" category

  • Mr. Stéphane Lefebvre, CPA, CA, Vice-President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, CAE Inc.
  • Mr. Jean-François Pruneau, M.Sc., CFA, Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, Quebecor Inc.

"Financial executive of a small or medium-sized enterprise" category

  • Mr. Marc Bouchard, CPA, CA, Senior Partner, Vice-President, Finance and Administration, Lemay
  • Mr. Brian Cosgrove, CPA, CA, Chief Financial Officer, Logibec Inc.
  • Mr. Jean Perron, CMPA, CPA, CA, Chief Financial Officer, Innergex Inc.

"Emerging financial executive" category

  • Ms. Amélie Beauchamp, CPA, CA, General Manager, Magenta Photo Studio
  • Mr. Eric Bouchard, MBA, CFA, CPA (Delaware), CPA, CA, Vice-President, Finance, Bombardier Transportation Americas
  • Mr. Mathieu Hébert, CPA, CA, Director, Corporate Financial Analysis, TC Transcontinental

In the final stage, the three winners will be selected by an independent jury, following an interview with each candidate.

2015 Homage Award

During this gala evening, the Québec Chapter of FEI Canada will present the 2015 Homage Award to Mr. Robert Coallier, MBA, Chief Executive Officer of Agropur. Mr. Coallier will be honoured for his achievements as a financial executive for C-Mac Industries, Molson Coors and Dollarama. This prestigious recognition, incorporated into the "Aces of Finances" competition in 2011, honours a financial executive who has had a stellar career, has brought distinction to the profession of finance and serves as a source of inspiration to his or her peers.
