Former Nielsen Executive Joins FaceAffinity

Face Technology Start-Up Continues to Build Advisory Network to Support the Company's Rapid Growth Plans

SANTA ROSA, CA--(Marketwired - Mar 31, 2015) - FaceAffinity, a start-up focused on advanced face pattern analysis technology, today announced that Robert L. McCann, Jr., formerly executive vice president of The Nielsen Company, has joined the company's Board of Advisors. McCann brings to the board more than three decades of executive leadership and media, marketing and research industry experience. He joins Edward Melia, chief operation officer of New World Holding Company in New York City, who joined the advisory board in early March 2015.

FaceAffinity has developed the world's first cloud-based face pattern analysis API. The company's image-based personality mapping software is a disruptive technology used in a variety of applications, including digital marketing, dating, talent management, career planning, security and life sciences. From a single image, FaceAffinity can produce an extensive range of personality traits that can, for example, help match people with compatible dating partners, as well as companies with prospective consumers and employees. The technology also integrates with a variety of platforms, including mobile, web and wearables.

"Our advisory board members are critical to both our early strategic planning, as well as our efforts at uncovering early opportunities for us to explore applications, customers and partnerships," said Ted Morgan, Co-Founder, President & CEO. "Bob has worked closely with large brands, was instrumental in building and managing professional teams, and he understands the importance of data and analytics. His experience will be invaluable as we work to capitalize on the current excitement around face technology, build-out our technology and team, and expand our reach."

During his more than 20-year career with Nielsen, McCann worked in a variety of positions, including serving as chairman and CEO of Nielsen Media Research International for nearly 10 years. He was also a senior vice president responsible for corporate direction/strategy, acquisitions, alliances, industry analyses, and corporate planning. Earlier he was responsible for managing Nielsen's global relationship with Kraft Foods and Miller Brewing (both then Philip Morris companies). Prior to Nielsen, McCann served as a senior vice president of SAMI/Burke (a Time Warner company), a vice president and partner at Booz-Allen & Hamilton, and held a variety of executive brand management positions at Colgate-Palmolive.

"In my 30 plus years in media, research and advertising, I have used dozens of data capture and analytic tools to help better understand customers, brands and industries," said McCann. "FaceAffinity technology is a paradigm shift for any organization that has relied on survey responses, questionnaires, clicks, listening devices, social media and other direct response systems for data capture and analysis. FaceAffinity uses the measurements of a person's face to describe personality traits that can be used to better understand customer likes or needs and to optimize marketing and business strategies. This is an exciting time for a young company, and I look forward to contributing to its success."
