20% of Employees Don't Know if their Employer Offers an Employee Assistance Program According to Four Seasons Financial Education

New research survey reveals surprising facts about EAP awareness among employees

ST. LOUIS, Mo., March 31, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Financial wellness firm, Four Seasons Financial Education (FSFE), recently completed their 2015 FSFE Financial Wellness Survey which includes information about Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). According to the survey, 20% of employees are unsure if their employer offers an EAP. Among the 37% of employees that acknowledge having an EAP, 17% are unsure if their EAP offers financial planning guidance.

"EAPs continue to add great services such as financial planning assistance, but employees aren't getting the message," say FSFE President, Travis Freeman. "If employers are paying for a great EAP and wellness program, they need to keep it top of mind with employees."

FSFE has provided financial planning services to EAPs since 1986. Freeman also cited seeing the same results among the EAP-covered employees that are referred to their firm. Many employees contact them for financial guidance and are amazed to learn about the benefit although it has been available to them years. Among those employees surveyed that have an EAP with a financial planning component, 25% have utilized it.
