NEW YORK, NY --(Marketwired - April 02, 2015) - B&H Photo is pleased to share Nikon's announcement of the 1 J5 Mirrorless Digital Camera. This camera embraces its tagline "I am commanding speed" wholeheartedly, with the use of the EXPEED 5A image processor and a 20.8-megapixel back side illuminated CX-format CMOS sensor, which enables high-resolution imaging at shooting rates up to 60 fps. Video recording has received a major update with the inclusion of a UHD 2160p option at 15 frames per second. Also, the LCD touchscreen can be tilted 180° upward, while NFC has been implemented alongside the built-in Wi-Fi connectivity.

The updated sensor gathers more light than a traditional CMOS sensor, allowing for improved imagery at up to ISO 12800. Autofocus is fast with 171 different focus areas, of which the 105 center points support phase detection for even faster focusing. The J5 can shoot at impressive rates of up to 20 fps with AF enabled and up to 60 fps with fixed focus. A new Sports Mode has been added that optimizes performance for fast-moving subjects.
