TREWGrip to Showcase Handheld Rear-Type Keyboard, Air Mouse and Game Controller at the HIMSS Annual Conference and Inaugural HX360
CINCINNATI, OH and CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Apr 13, 2015) - In today's healthcare environment, documentation has never been more important. Productively and efficiently capturing that data, without negatively impacting patient interaction, is a challenge facing many healthcare professionals. For the first time at the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference and to the healthcare community, TREWGrip is demonstrating the TREWGrip Mobile Dock, a handheld keyboard, air mouse and game controller that provides a mobile and ergonomic data entry experience for clinicians and medical scribes. TREWGrip is exhibiting at Booth S55 in the HX360 pavilion, a special section of the HIMSS Conference reserved for next generation technologies.
TREWGrip features a full-size QWERTY keyboard that allows users to hold the keyboard and comfortably enter data using all 10 fingers while sitting, standing or moving around. By simply repositioning the hands, typists can transfer their competencies from a flat keyboard to TREWGrip within 8-10 hours of normal use. The device connects to any Bluetooth HID-enabled technology, and works with Windows, Mac OS, Android and iOS operating systems.
"There are a variety of emerging alternative methods for capturing patient data such as voice dictation and eye glasses with cameras," said Mark Parker, founder and president of TREWGrip. "Despite these options, typing on a full-sized keyboard is still the preferred and most productive methods of data entry. We created TREWGrip because it provides a familiar user experience, and is a more productive and mobile solution that allows medical professionals to maintain eye contact with their patients while performing data entry. We look forward to showing the healthcare community how it works and finding partners that can help us integrate TREWGrip into the hospital and medical office workflow."
TREWGrip first introduced the Mobile Dock in 2014, and it has generated interest from a variety of healthcare providers and professionals. The patent-pending technology works in any environment and on a variety of technology platforms. Users can replace their current desktop computer keyboards and mice with TREWGrip, and dock smartphones and mini tablets on the front for more productive two-hand text entry. TREWGrip also connects to Smart TVs and wall-mounted monitors allowing users to quickly navigate menus, enter text and play games using simple gesturing.
