SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwired - April 13, 2015) - Corum Group, the leading M&A advisory firm for software and related technology companies, announced today the acquisition of its client, electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management (PM) solution provider e-MDs, by Marlin Equity Partners. Following the acquisition, e-MDs has been merged with MDeverywhere, a Marlin portfolio company and provider of revenue cycle management (RCM) services and credentialing for physicians.

"We are very pleased to see this partnership come to fruition," said Corum Group President Nat Burgess, who led the deal. "In a highly competitive process, Marlin's expertise in healthcare, early efforts to build strong relationships with the team members, and resources in RCM made them the clear choice for e-MDs."

Dr. David Winn, physician founder and CEO of e-MDs, who will be retiring, stated, "The combined company is well positioned to accomplish great things. I leave with the confidence that e-MDs customers are in good hands, and I am grateful for Corum's diligent work to ensure that we came together with the right partner."

Jim Brady, a healthcare operating executive at Marlin, will serve as the interim CEO of the combined company. He added, "I look forward to working with the teams at both companies to serve the needs of our physician customers across the country. The ability to bring together e-MDs' top-ranked PM and EMR platform with MDeverywhere's RCM solution further enhances the company's ability to meet the needs of physicians and other clinicians who are facing continuing challenges and uncertainty within healthcare today."

The acquisition of e-MDs marks Corum's fifth sale of a healthcare technology client in the last two years. On April 30, Corum will participate in a Market Spotlight webcast focusing on M&A in healthcare software and related technology, hosted by World Financial Symposiums.
