SMS Equipment's Winnipeg branch has now relocated to the bustling industrial area of CentrePort. The new facility was opened and began operations on November 10, 2014. It is located on Mountain View Rd., Winnipeg, MB; a short distance from several industry-related operations. The new building was custom built to suit the needs for use in construction, mining, forestry and other heavy industries. The building sits on a fully developed 5 acre lot and has increased its workforce by approximately 25 per cent. The new 16,500 square feet building was custom built and includes various beneficial features such as shop bays capable of holding 10+ machines, and a 20 ton crane with 5 ton sub-crane capable of lifting large off-balance loads safely.

Greg McKee, Operations Manager for SMS Equipment in Winnipeg and Thunder Bay, said the CentrePort location is an all-around better site for meeting clients' needs. "The new CentrePort highway gives us a great route to the Perimeter and allows us to get in and out of the City of Winnipeg with more ease," McKee said, noting the movement of heavy equipment was getting increasingly difficult at its former location.

Celebrate with SMS Equipment, Winnipeg! The Grand Opening of the new CentrePort facility will be held on Wednesday April 22, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm. The event is open to family, friends, colleagues, and customers and will serve dinner and refreshments beginning at 5:30pm. The official Ceremony will start at 6pm.
