Eagle Sponsors the 24th Annual MASC Young Authors & Illustrators Conference

Ottawa Area Youth to Gain Inspiration from Recognized Authors and Illustrators

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 20, 2015) - Eagle Professional Resources Inc. (Eagle) is proud to once again be sponsoring one of Ottawa's favourite spring events for students interested in writing and the arts, MASC's Young Authors and Illustrators Conference. Starting tomorrow and running through to Thursday, participants from grades 4 to 8 with a special interest in writing and illustrating will gather at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum to get the experience of a lifetime, as some of Canada's most recognized authors and illustrators deliver seminars related to their expertise.

This year's slate of workshop leaders features an outstanding group of authors and illustrators. Authors include Catherine Austen, Kate Inglis, Monique Polak, and Rina Singh, while the illustration workshops will be run by artists Tim Wynne-Jones, Geneviève Després, Matt James, and Sydney Smith. Each participant at the conference will have the opportunity to attend two workshops through the day.

The day provides exceptional learning experiences for students and has proven to create memories that will live on forever. A couple of comments from last year's attendees include:

"It (the conference) sparked a light in me that I would never have found" and "It was fun and I let my dreams go WILD!"

Eagle has been the major sponsor for the Young Authors and Illustrators Conference since 2001. In that time, the professional staffing company has helped to ensure that over 5,000 children could attend this conference with these authors and illustrators. In addition to providing financial support, Eagle's team is active with both the conference and the MASC organization. Eagle's CEO, Kevin Dee, sat on the board for a number of years; Lisa Murray, Director of Marketing, has been a member of the Young Authors and Illustrators Conference Organizing Committee for the past 5 years; and staff in the Ottawa office often volunteer for a day during the event.

"Eagle is very proud to be a part of the Young Authors and Illustrators Conference, which fosters creativity, innovation and passion in future leaders of our community," said Eagle's CEO, Kevin Dee. "The MASC Team and their army of volunteers do an amazing job with this incredible event each year and we have been fortunate to have them as friends of Eagle for so many years."
