DRAPER, UT--(Marketwired - April 29, 2015) - Since its inception, Fluent Home has been dedicated to two main missions: Help people secure their homes, and give back to communities in need. Fluent has grown to become Canada's largest private home security dealer. It has also become one of the leaders in corporate charity projects.
After four years of international and local service projects and charitable donations, Fluent is now being recognized for its most recent 2014 charity project as the 2015 Mission 500 CSR winner.
The Mission 500 organization is a well-known non-profit group that gathers corporate sponsorships within the security alarm industry to help children in need. Each year they aim to provide food, clothing and other needs to impoverished children around the globe. The organization also formed two industry awards to recognize an individual and organization for their charity efforts each year.
The Corporate Social Responsibility award is given in recognition of substantial and unique contributions to communities in need by an organization. Fluent Home was recognized for the 2014 #fluentcares project in the Philippines.
In November of 2014, volunteers from all levels of the Fluent Home organization traveled to the Philippines and dedicated themselves to a week-long project, rebuilding a local elementary school that had been destroyed by typhoon Haiyan. The Fluent team helped to rebuild roofing and frames, repair walls, install gutters, and paint and landscape the area.
The Dalingding Sur Elementary School was selected for the 2014 project because of the significant damage it received from an earthquake and later a typhoon in late 2013, and the resulting extensive need for repairs. Over 250 children walk 3km every day through sugar cane fields to attend this school.
Only one month after Fluent left, another typhoon struck the area. This time the residents were able to use the local elementary as a shelter and many lives were kept safe.
Graham Wood, President of Fluent Home, along with Kimberly Blakeney, were present at the charity gala to receive the award.
