Lingotek Helps Princess Cruises Manage "Translation at Sea"

Princess@Sea Is the Industry's First, Guest-Facing Digital Experience Platform

LEHI, UT--(Marketwired - May 11, 2015) - Princess@Sea is an industry-first, guest-facing, multilingual digital experience platform built on Drupal.

In the cruise industry where exotic destinations and customer service define the guest's experience, multilingual content is a key ingredient of that experience. "Princess@Sea fundamentally changes the way our guests access information onboard our ships," said Mario Siebaldi, Vice President, Guest Services & Technology at Princess Cruises (NYSE: CCL). "Princess@Sea provides valuable information directly to our guests' mobile devices. Guests can chat with each other, plan their day's events and activities, review the ship's itinerary and port guides, browse restaurant menus and even access their stateroom accounts."

A few years ago, Princess Cruises decided to redefine the onboard guest digital experience by creating Princess@Sea, their first guest-facing multilingual digital experience platform. A new era was introduced that combines continuous multilingual content delivery, made possible in part by the integration of Lingotek's cloud-based Translation Management System (TMS) and their Lingotek - Inside Drupal module (see case study).

The "Princess@Sea" application contains over 60,000 words of content spread across hundreds of web pages. Managing the localization process without a translation management system would have been a very challenging endeavor. Princess Cruises wanted best-in-class technology that utilized customizable workflow options, allowing them to involve in-house experts as well as third-party professional linguists to help with the translation of content.

"Princess Cruises is a very forward-thinking company. Mario's team is comprised of truly innovative and creative thinkers," stated Rob Vandenberg, President and CEO of Lingotek. "Lingotek is proud to be a major part of the Princess Cruises 'Translation at Sea' solution and looks forward to working with them on continued projects."
