SingleHop Expands Into the Northeast Market With Acquisition of Datagram

Hosted Private Cloud Provider Extends Services and Customer Base, Adds Strategic East Coast Data Centers Through Its Second Acquisition in a Year

CHICAGO, IL and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - May 20, 2015) - SingleHop, a leading provider of on-demand hosted private clouds and managed hosting, today announced the acquisition of New York-based infrastructure solutions provider Datagram. This acquisition is SingleHop's second such announcement this year, following that of Orlando-based Server Intellect in March, which added a range of Microsoft capabilities, including Hyper-V support, to SingleHop's enterprise private cloud offering. The strategic acquisition of Datagram paves the way for SingleHop to expand its hosted private cloud services into the Northeast market with additional data centers in New York and Connecticut.

Acquiring an Established Leader in a Growing Market
Over the last 20 years, Datagram has grown from a small company with a single server to one of the area's leading providers of colocation and IT solutions. The company provides enterprise colocation, hosting and network services to medium and large enterprises in the compliance, media, entertainment and financial services industries. Datagram counts companies like Birchbox, Gawker and RadicalMedia, plus many more among its customers.

"Datagram and SingleHop share the same vision of making best-of-breed technology easy to deploy and use for enterprise customers," said Zak Boca, CEO of SingleHop. "The acquisition comes at a time when many enterprises, especially those in the media and entertainment space, are looking for ways to reduce their capital costs, increase their agility and offload routine IT functions to providers. As we move forward, SingleHop is actively considering additional acquisitions that add strategic, accretive benefits to our long term mission of providing the most complete suite of managed hosting and private cloud solutions."

Following the acquisition, Datagram will continue to operate as an independent business unit of SingleHop, and effective immediately, will be able to deploy its services across all of SingleHop's locations. The company's office operations, sales, support, marketing and other business aspects will remain intact, but will be augmented and expanded as SingleHop continues to invest in Datagram's services and growth.

Leveraging Combined Capabilities to Better Serve Customer Needs
Datagram customers will see an improved and expanded suite of services and benefits, including enhanced SLAs, access to SingleHop's award-winning customer portal, expanded support teams, new data center locations and more. Datagram customers will also have access to a whole new suite of incremental services from SingleHop that they would not have access to otherwise, such as on-demand bare metal and virtual servers, security and compliance services, additional worldwide data center locations, developer APIs and more.

"Joining forces with SingleHop is an exciting opportunity for the Datagram team as well as the customers we serve," said Alex Reppen, CEO of Datagram. "Two decades of exponential growth in data creation has spurred the need for solutions that allow organizations to both store and manage increasing volumes of data in a cost-efficient manner. Together with SingleHop, we are now able to offer our customers a far greater degree of management and control over their data at a time when the demands of workload management is stifling innovation in many organizations."

Financial details of the deal are not being disclosed. Signal Hill advised Datagram.
