Waller Adds Six Attorneys in Nashville and Memphis

Additions Include Former Department of Justice Trial Attorney


NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwired - May 21, 2015) - Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP, a leading provider of legal services to the healthcare, financial services, technology, retail and hospitality industries announced today that five attorneys have recently joined the firm's Nashville and Memphis offices. Meredith L. Toole, Nicolo Davidson, Jennifer L. Johnson, Robert R. Campbell III and David G. Marks joined Waller in Nashville, and Elizabeth G. Sillay joined the firm's Memphis office.

Meredith L. Toole joins Waller from the U.S. Department of Justice where she spent over four years investigating and prosecuting False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback and Stark cases jointly with U.S. Attorney's offices and government agencies throughout the country. Toole served as lead counsel on numerous qui tam and government investigations and her experience covers a wide range of issues faced by providers facing high-stakes government enforcement actions, including Civil Investigative Demands, statistical sampling of claims, subpoena enforcement actions and mediation of complex fraud cases. Toole entered the DOJ through its Honors Program after earning her J.D. in 2010 from Duke University School of Law. She earned her B.A., summa cum laude, in 2007 from Vanderbilt University.

Nicolo Davidson is a registered patent attorney who advises clients ranging from research institutions to individual inventors. Davidson has prepared and prosecuted U.S. and international patent applications in a wide range of disciplines, including chemical, small molecule, polymer, pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and mechanical arts. He earned his J.D., cum laude, in 2010 from Lewis & Clark Law School and graduated with honors from the University of Washington in 2007 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Additionally, Davidson is pursuing an M.S. in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University.

Jennifer L. Johnson assists real estate developers, investors and owner-operators in the multifamily real estate sector in transactional matters including acquisitions, dispositions and finance matters. She also has extensive experience representing a leading national wireless company in matters related to the development, leasing, and acquisition of network facilities throughout the United States. Johnson earned her J.D. in 2004 from the Nashville School of Law and earned her B.S. from Lipscomb University in 1989. She also holds a paralegal certificate from the Southeastern Paralegal Institute.

Robert R. Campbell III assists healthcare providers and other companies in corporate and commercial transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures. Campbell earned his J.D., cum laude, in 2014 from the University of Georgia School of Law. He earned his B.A. in 2011 from Wake Forest University where he majored in Political Science with a minor in Economics.

David G. Marks works closely with corporate executives, investors, specialty lenders, financial advisors and investment bankers on corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and debt and equity financings. Prior to joining Waller, David was an associate with Jones Day in New York where he advised a variety of companies, including an investment bank and a consumer products company, in the design and implementation of restructurings and the acquisition and sale of business segments and assets. Marks earned his J.D. in 2009 from Columbia Law School. He earned his B.S., cum laude, in Government (International Relations) and Geography in 2006 from Dartmouth College.

Elizabeth G. Sillay is a trusted advisor to entrepreneurs, physicians, technology transfer offices, universities, investors, and sponsors that are developing next generation life sciences products and technologies. Her experience includes in-house legal roles with Genentech, Inc., the San Francisco-based biotechnology company, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Sillay earned her J.D. in 2003 from Vanderbilt University Law School. She earned her B.S., cum laude, in organizational Development from Vanderbilt University in 1993.
