LETHBRIDGE, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - May 22, 2015) -

Phase 1 of the Crossings Leisure Complex continues to take shape and is on track for its grand opening in the fall of 2016. Representatives from all levels of government today toured the construction site and witnessed the progress being made on the 11,600-square-metre facility that will enhance the quality of life in Lethbridge by providing an array of opportunities for individual, family and group recreation for all ages.

Most of the steel frame of the structure is complete, and interior masonry work is well under way. The roof is substantially complete on the arena, and roof work continues atop the curling wing. Additionally, the mechanical and electrical systems are now being roughed in.

Located at the corner of Britannia Boulevard and Mauretania Road West, the Complex will include two ice surfaces, 10 sheets of curling ice, viewing areas, dressing rooms, and food and beverage services.

Once completed, the Complex will enable Lethbridge to attract regional, provincial, and national competitions and special events, which will in turn contribute to the City's economic prosperity.
