Funds Will Support the Heart & Stroke Foundation and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre

VAUGHAN, ON--(Marketwired - June 15, 2015) - Over the months of May and June, 155 PowerStream employees participated in various community cycling events, raising $80,000 in support of two charitable organizations -- Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Five employee teams, each comprised of 29 members, pedaled in several Heart and Stroke Big Bike events held over the month of May in Vaughan, Barrie and Markham. In total, the PowerStream Big Bike teams raised $28,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation through donations, raffles, carwashes and employee barbeques.

To conclude this year's series of biking initiatives, 12 PowerStream employees cycled for two days in the annual Ride to Conquer Cancer this past weekend, travelling more than 200 kilometers between Toronto and Niagara Falls. Together, the PowerStream team contributed $51,818 to the $19 million total that 4,853 riders raised in support of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
