Ucore Appoints Molecular Recognition Pioneers to Advisory Board

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwired - June 16, 2015) - Ucore Rare Metals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:UCU) (OTCQX:UURAF) ("Ucore" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Reed M. Izatt and Mr. Steven R. Izatt to the Company's Advisory Board.

Dr. Reed M. Izatt is one of the founding principals of IBC Advanced Technologies, Inc. of American Fork, Utah ("IBC"), which specializes in Molecular Recognition Technology ("MRT"). He is the author or co-author of over 550 publications, and has broad research experience in macrocyclic and separations chemistry, calorimetry, and thermodynamics of metal-ligand interactions. Dr. Izatt's publications have received over 25,000 citations. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science ("AAAS"), and has received the American Chemical Society Separations Science and Technology Award (1996), the Calorimetry Conference Huffman Award (1983) and the Utah Governor's Medal for Science and Technology (1990). Dr. Izatt received a BS degree in Chemistry from Utah State University (1951) and a PhD degree in Chemistry with an Earth Sciences minor from Pennsylvania State University (1954). After post-doctoral work at Mellon Institute of Industrial Research, he embarked on an academic career at Brigham Young University retiring as Charles E. Maw Professor of Chemistry (1993).

Steven R. Izatt is President and CEO of IBC. Mr. Izatt serves on the Board of Directors of the International Precious Metals Institute ("IPMI"). He received the IPMI Jun-ichiro Tanaka Distinguished Achievement Award (2008) in recognition of his entrepreneurial contributions to the precious metals industry. Mr. Izatt has authored or co-authored over 100 publications and presentations. He is a Registered Member of The Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME). Prior to IBC, Mr. Izatt worked as a management consultant at PA Consulting Services and Touche Ross & Co (now known as Deloitte Consulting), as well as a new ventures engineer and project manager at Bethlehem Steel Corporation. He graduated in 1984 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with an S.M. degree in Chemical Engineering Practice and an S.M. degree in Technology and Policy. Mr. Izatt graduated in 1981 with High Honors and as a University Scholar from Brigham Young University (BYU) where he obtained a B.A. in Chemistry.
