CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - June 16, 2015) - At today's 2015 Annual General Meeting, the Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) Board of Directors bid farewell to outgoing Chair of the Board, Alan Norris, and appointed its new Chair, Cameron Bailey. A retired senior executive with McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm and a CHF Board member since 2010, Mr. Bailey brings a passion for supporting people experiencing homelessness and poverty to his new role as Chair of the Board. Joining Mr. Bailey as vice-chairs of the Board are Deputy Chief of Police, Trevor Daroux and Bernadette Majdell, Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, Hestia Group. Luana Comin-Sartor, Director, Internal Audit, Suncor Energy Inc. was appointed Treasurer.

Alan Norris, President and CEO of Brookfield Residential stepped down as Chair of the Board, a position he held for four years to focus his attention on the RESOLVE Campaign, where he will continue to volunteer as Chair of the Board.

Details of CHF's progress in fiscal 2014/15 are available in the 2015 Report to Community and include:

• 895 people placed in housing with supports;
• The City of Calgary experiencing a 15% decrease in homelessness per 100,000 population since launch of the Plan to End Homelessness in 2008;
• Funding provided to 60 programs delivered by 27 agencies
• Calgary's Updated Plan to End Homelessness launched through I Heart Home YYC initiative;
• Completion of two development permits (no appeal) through the City of Calgary Planning Department for Aurora on the Park in Hillhurst Sunnyside and Providence House in Crescent Heights. These buildings mean CHF will have completed 3 apartment buildings towards its goal of building 8 new buildings under the RESOLVE Campaign;
• Enhanced support of client success through steam-lining of administrative and financial reporting for agencies.
