Utility to Open Doors to the Public for Open House on Saturday, June 20
VAUGHAN, ON--(Marketwired - June 16, 2015) - In celebration of National Electricity Month, PowerStream is opening the doors of its head office in Vaughan on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to provide visitors with a tour of its micro grid assets and to display how homes and businesses will generate and use power in the future.
Visitors will have the opportunity to see first-hand how micro grids will be an integral part of Canada's energy future. Not only are micro grids changing the way electricity is distributed, they also provide an innovative solution to the challenge of asset renewal in large-scale electricity delivery systems, and demonstrate how renewable energy helps to address the growing demand for electricity.
In addition to showcasing its Micro Grid Demonstration Project, the utility will also highlight the various energy management initiatives it is currently offering to customers, including the Residential Energy Management (REM) pilot in partnership with Rogers. Plug'n Drive will be onsite offering visitors the unique opportunity to test-drive three different types of electric vehicles (EVs). 105.9 The Region's 'Rob on the Road' will also be in attendance from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. broadcasting live from the event.
