The annual fiesta attracts hundreds of thousands of balloon lovers and holiday seekers every year to Luye, in the eastern county of Taitung, which is known for its picturesque landscape, indigenous cultural heritage and tasty traditional cuisine.

Night Glow shows, new design balloons and happy surprises to highlight fiesta
Artistically-designed hot air balloons with balloonists from England, France, the Netherlands, the United States, Russia and Taiwan will fly over Luye sky until August 9 to cater tourists a feast to the eyes.

Programs of this year's festival will be condensed to 44 days but with even more fun and excitement as compared with the two-month-long festival in the previous four years. The organizers guarantee "new night glow shows every week," "new balloons every day" and "surprises everywhere" on top of the 10 fun events on different themes. The various activities are aimed at making the festival the most popular summer time recreational option for both tourists from Taiwan and abroad.

The 10 themed programs include "Sky Travel tour," "Hot air balloon tethering rides," "Hot air balloon Walk-in experience," "Hot air balloon free-flying rides," "Party of special-shaped balloons," "Romantic moments -- wedding proposal/photo-taking" etc., in addition to balloon flying demonstrations.
