59 Percent of People Say That a Strong Benefits Package Will Keep Them at a Job Longer
LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Jun 29, 2015) - Today, Rocket Lawyer is introducing Legal Benefits, and in doing so, is shaking up the benefits world with something more essential than an office ping pong table, comfortable couches or tasty beverages.
Rocket Lawyer Legal Benefits™ is specifically designed as a benefit employers and associations can provide to help employees and members deal with the legal implications of life events, from estate planning to divorce to speeding tickets. It's the only technology-backed enterprise legal benefit, and it's now available across the United States. Unlike other legal services, Rocket Lawyer Legal Benefits is the only platform that covers all legal needs, including access to legal advice through Rocket Lawyer On Call® attorneys and easy-to-complete legal documents.
Legal life events, such as buying a home or going through a divorce, can stress out employees, impacting job performance and productivity. A national survey conducted by SurveyMonkey on behalf of Rocket Lawyer polled more than 500 U.S. full-time employees on how everyday legal concerns impacted their work. Nearly one third of employees surveyed had dealt with a legal issue in the last year. Top legal issues included: care for aging parents, traffic or transit tickets, and car accidents.
Consequently, a majority of respondents (79 percent) said that being provided legal benefits at work is important, regardless of whether they recently had to manage legal issues.

Lost time is the primary business problem when it comes to employees dealing with routine legal matters. Of employees surveyed who had to address a legal issue:

Competitive Benefits Packages Make a Difference
Employers are constantly looking for ways to stand out against competition and attract and retain the best industry talent. Some companies have resorted to quirky, out-of-the box perks, such as offering benefits packages that include catered lunches, gym memberships and in-house barbers. However, practical benefits, such as legal assistance might be the key to employee retention.
"Great companies provide their employees with the resources they need to succeed, both on the job and beyond the workplace," said Charley Moore, founder and CEO of Rocket Lawyer. "Our Rocket Lawyer Legal Benefits package makes it easy for HR leaders to minimize common employee distractions. A big bonus is that, in an increasingly competitive job market, offering high-value and practical benefits is also a powerful way to distinguish your brand."
The survey data strongly suggests that offering a quality benefits package is a key factor in hiring or retaining valuable workers:
