Alex Poulos Joins Support.com as Vice President, Marketing

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., July 7, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Support.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPRT), makers of cloud-based Nexus® software for Support Interaction Optimization (SIO) and a leading provider of tech support and turnkey support center services, today announced that Alexandros (Alex) Poulos has joined the company in the role of Vice President, Marketing. Poulos will be responsible for setting the direction for Support.com's SaaS and services marketing, expanding the go-to-market strategy for the Nexus product line, and leading the efforts to establish Support.com as a thought leader in the technical support market, especially as it applies to the emerging IoT space.

"I am pleased to have Alex join our team," said Elizabeth Cholawsky, President and CEO of Support.com. "Alex shares our values and is enthusiastic about our mission to provide dramatically easier ways to solve complex technical support problems. He has a proven track record in positioning SaaS solutions as leaders in the market, and we look forward to his contributions to shaping our go-to-market strategies and advancing Support.com's presence in the market."

"I am truly delighted to join the Support.com team at such an exciting time for the company and the market," said Poulos. "Customer satisfaction is the #1 priority for technology brands worldwide. At the same time, the sheer amount and complexity of connected devices in the IoT create unique opportunities to redefine the way support shapes the customer experience, which ultimately determines the true product value for the customer. Throughout my career I have brought together a natural passion for technology with a goal of helping people make the most of it. I look forward to applying this approach at Support.com."

Poulos joins Support.com from his last role as Chief Marketing Officer for NetDimensions, in which he built the marketing organization to a global scale, helped direct the company's transition to becoming a SaaS provider, and increased brand awareness, resulting in consistent recognition for NetDimensions as one of the top providers in their industry. This led to an almost three-fold increase in the company's revenues and a four-fold increase in the company's market capitalization over the four years prior to Poulos joining Support.com. Earlier in his career, Poulos worked for both early stage companies – including the network mediation and billing vendor Narus Inc. (which was acquired by Boeing) – as well as established technology leaders such as Silicon Graphics. He holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Rochester and an MBA from INSEAD.

As previously disclosed, the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors of Support.com adopted a 2014 Inducement Award Plan (the "Plan") in accordance with NASDAQ Rule 5635(c)(4). Under the terms of the Plan, Support.com has granted the following equity awards as of July 6, 2015 (the "Grant Date") to Poulos in connection with his appointment as Vice President of Marketing, subject to continuous service: (i) an award of restricted stock units in the amount of 65,625 shares of Company common stock that will vest over four years in equal annual vesting tranches; and (ii) an award of stock options priced at Fair Market Value on the Grant Date to purchase 70,000 shares of Company common stock that will vest over four years from the Grant Date with 25% becoming vested on the first anniversary and 1/48th becoming vested each month thereafter.
