Robert Baumgartner to Retire as CDI's CEO; Richard Long Named Successor

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwired - July 21, 2015) - Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI) announced today that Robert Baumgartner, the company's Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman of the Board, has decided to retire effective August 1, 2015. Baumgartner will continue to serve as Executive Chairman of the board of directors. Richard Long, CDI's President and Chief Operating Officer, will take over as CEO on August 1, 2015.

Baumgartner's decision to retire will bring to a close a chapter in a remarkable career in which he led CDI through a tremendous period of growth resulting in more than 35 new partnerships across the country. He joined CDI as CEO in 2001 and was named CEO and Executive Chairman in May 2011.

Prior to joining CDI, Mr. Baumgartner held the positions of chief executive officer and board member of American Coating International, president and chief executive officer of First Solar, president of Apogee Auto Glass Group and other executive positions. He currently serves on the boards of Bio-Techne Inc., CareStream Health and Invenshure LLC, and he is a director and past chairman of the Association for Quality Imaging (AQI).

Upon Baumgartner's recommendation, CDI's board of directors has unanimously elected Richard Long as chief executive officer and president.

Since 2011, Long has been chief operating officer, with the additional title of president added in 2014. He has more than 20 years of healthcare industry experience including region manager for General Electric prior to joining CDI.
