Celebrating Arts and Heritage in Simcoe

COLDWATER, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 21, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada is providing $4,400 through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program to support the Simcoe County Steampunk Society in presenting the 5^th edition of the Coldwater Steampunk Festival on August 7 and 8, 2015.

Bruce Stanton, Member of Parliament for Simcoe North, made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

• Steampunk is an artistic style that imagines a world in which historical time periods, often Victorian or Edwardian, are fused with more modern technologies.
• The festival presents the work of local artists, artisans and heritage performers who are inspired by the steampunk genre. Activities include musical and dance performances.
