Make-A-Wish(R) Canada and Zulu Alpha Kilo Encourage Young People to 'FUNraise' This Summer With New Campaign

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - July 22, 2015) - We can all find creative ways to raise money to grant a kid's wish… you just have to know where to look!

Make-A-Wish® Canada together with award-winning agency, Zulu Alpha Kilo, will launch a series of videos this month, showing young people and their families just how easy it is to dig up money to donate.

"FUNraising is the best kind of fundraising," says Jennifer Klotz-Ritter, president & CEO, Make-A-Wish Canada. "Raising money for any charity should be something to get excited about. It should be enjoyable and energizing for all those involved. This is especially true for Make-A-Wish. Supporting the granting of magical, life-transforming wishes is as exhilarating for the FUNraiser as it is empowering for our courageous wish kids and their families!"

Three 30-second spots will be released during the summer months, featuring some memorable kids and their clever FUNraising ideas: Lollipop, Grandma and Snare. The videos were produced through Suneeva and directed by Shelley Lewis.

"We approached this opportunity from a very different angle with the FUNraising idea," says Zak Mroueh, Zulu's chief creative officer & founder. "We wanted to produce something fresh and unexpected, moving away from the often somber and cliché aesthetic many PSAs still convey. This was an excellent opportunity to place a positive spin on the message and have some fun with the audience."

The videos will air on TV and online as part of PSA rotations on various networks and promoted across social media channels with the hashtag #FunRaising. Make-A-Wish® and Zulu Alpha Kilo are also actively seeking donated digital pre-roll space.

Make-A-Wish hopes the FUNraising campaign will resonate with a Generation Z audience and create a shift in donor demographics.

"Our young people are tomorrow's philanthropic leaders," says Klotz-Ritter. "It's important that we cultivate the behavior to 'live generously' early on and integrate charitable giving into everyday life, no matter how big or small the gesture. We are so pleased with the work of Zulu Alpha Kilo on these PSAs and look forward to engaging the public response."

Make-A-Wish Canada and Zulu Alpha Kilo first partnered in 2013 with the creation of the acclaimed Kringl™ - The Proof of Santa video app during the holiday season.
