Pri-Med Launches Innovation in Healthcare Challenge

Challenge Celebrates Innovations in Improving Patient Care; Five Finalists to Be Announced at Pri-Med East Annual Conference

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - July 22, 2015) - Pri-Med, a trusted source for professional medical education to over 260,000 clinicians since 1995, today announced the Innovation in Healthcare Challenge, an open call to all U.S.-based practicing clinicians, residents and medical students to showcase how they are improving patient care with innovation.

The Challenge is hosted by Medstro, a popular social network for physicians, where entrants can submit their ideas and peers can give feedback and vote for their favorite submission. The idea must be novel, realistic to implement in a clinical environment and demonstrate an impact on clinician workflow or patient outcomes. The deadline to submit is Monday, Aug. 17 at 8 p.m., EDT.

"The Innovation in Healthcare Challenge celebrates the exciting medical innovations taking place amongst today's practicing clinicians on the frontlines of patient care," said Marc L. Mosier, MD., Chief Medical Officer, Pri-Med / Amazing Charts. "We have already seen a wide range of great submissions on everything from pediatric resuscitation and ingestible biosensors to prenatal telehealth and point-of-care testing using a smartphone. We hope the Challenge will encourage an engaging discussion on the benefits of implementing new technologies and protocols into clinical practice, which can help augment care and improve health outcomes."

Based on votes by Medstro readers, Pri-Med will select five finalists that most improve patient care through innovation and recognize them in front of 4,000+ peers at the Pri-Med East Annual Conference, Sept. 17-20, 2015 in Boston, MA.

Finalists will also be highlighted in the Celebration in Innovations Lounge in the conference Exhibit Hall and will receive five years of free registration for Pri-Med East to help celebrate the 25th anniversary in 2020.
