FREDERICK, MD--(Marketwired - Jul 23, 2015) - Welocalize, global leader in innovative translation and localization solutions, continues sponsorship of Translators without Borders, the leading non-profit translation charity. Translators without Borders was founded in 1993 and is the first crisis relief translation network with more than 3,000 active volunteer translators focused on health, crisis and educational content.

"Welocalize is one of our longest standing sponsors and we are pleased to continue our partnership with them," said Rebecca Petras, program director of Translators without Borders. "Translation really matters. Aid organizations need to communicate with local people in their language and provide crucial healthcare information. We are always looking for support to keep Translators without Borders running effectively and we are grateful to sponsors like Welocalize, who continue to support the charity's work."

In 2014, the Translators without Borders teams donated 33,000 translation hours to help communities and aid agencies including the Ebola outbreak and more recently the devastating earthquake in Nepal. Since inception, Translators without Borders has translated more than 26 million words for humanitarian organizations.

"At Welocalize, we are always looking for ways to make a difference. Translators without Borders is an important charity in our industry and we are delighted to continue our support," said Smith Yewell, CEO and co-founder of Welocalize. "Translators without Borders enables communities to communicate and receive information in their native language, which is vital to the effectiveness of relief work and aid organizations around the world."

Translators without Borders (TWB) recently released a short film that communicates the effectiveness of translation within communities and raises awareness of the language gap that is prevalent in humanitarian work. View here:
