BOTHELL, WA--(Marketwired - Jul 23, 2015) - Silicon Mechanics, a leading provider of servers, storage and high-performance computing solutions to the world's most innovative organizations, today announced Daniel Chow, the company's COO/CTO, has been named to Puget Sound Business Journal's "40 Under 40" list for 2015, which honors outstanding members of the local business community. Chow has been recognized for his role as a results-driven operations leader, his extensive technology depth and thought leader qualities, and as a dedicated supporter of community-based organizations.

"Dan has evolved his career, starting out as an engineer at BECU and Boeing, to a senior manager of compute systems at the Walt Disney Company, to where he is today, leading the manufacturing operations of a $65 million company. He is driven by success, motivated by challenges and is a role model for his peers," says Silicon Mechanics' President and CEO, Eva Cherry. "I feel proud and privileged to have a talented young technology professional like Dan as a member of the Silicon Mechanics executive team and I'm excited to share in the celebration of seeing Dan recognized in the '40 under 40.'"

Chow was hired for the role of COO responsible for manufacturing operations and customer deployment at Silicon Mechanics in January 2014, and has morphed his role to also include responsibilities as CTO serving as a product strategist and technical evangelist for the company. He previously served as a senior manager of storage and compute systems for The Walt Disney Company, providing technical leadership and guidance to the IT staff and product technology evaluations for company purchases. Chow originally started working with Disney in 2006 as a lead storage administrator with the Disney Interactive Media Group, followed by a stint as the manager of storage and backup for The Walt Disney Company before being promoted to a senior manager in April 2012.

"I am humbled and thrilled to be one of the honorees to join this amazing group of business leaders, and for the experiences I'm realizing each and every day while at Silicon Mechanics," says Chow. "This recognition is a great honor to the values that were instilled to me from my family, while also providing the opportunity to share my dedication and passion I carry as a business leader and executive. My constant desire and passion to innovate will continue to drive continued success for an organization I'm proud to be part of."

Chow is also active in the local community, having served as an Officer for the Light of Salvation (LOS) at the Church Of Christ, where he performs missionary activities and civic duties. He is also a volunteer for One Brick and as a volunteer for the Seattle/Rainier Food Bank.
