Escape from Saskatchewan Penitentiary-Minimum Security Unit


PRINCE ALBERT, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwired - July 26, 2015) - Correctional Service Canada

On July 26, 2015 during the 4:30 p.m. count in the minimum security unit at Saskatchewan Penitentiary, staff members discovered that Lawrence Sewap was not accounted for.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Prince Albert detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

Lawrence Sewap is 35 years old, measures 183 cm (6'0") in height and weighs 76 kg (168 lbs). He has a medium complexion, brown eyes and brown hair. He has tattoos on his left and right arms. He is currently serving 3 years, 9 months and 2 days for Aggravated Assault, Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Unlawfully at Large and Obstruct Peace Officer

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Lawrence Sewap is asked to contact police.

CSC will investigate the circumstances of this incident and is working with the police to locate the offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all of the information available to help arrest the inmate.
