Onstream Device-First Intelligence Framework Launches at IoT Evolution in Las Vegas

Framework Transforms Connected Devices Into Smart Devices, Driving Responsive Behavior, Autonomous Action, and Enhanced Functionality Across Networks of Devices

RENO, NV--(Marketwired - Aug 17, 2015) - Onstream, a device intelligence company, is unveiling its Internet of Things technology at the IoT Evolution Conference and Expo in Las Vegas on Aug. 17.

Onstream's framework closes the intelligence loop in the rapidly expanding world of connected devices. There are 4.9 billion connected devices currently online, and an expected 25 billion will be online by 2020, according to Gartner. But most of those devices are not intelligent -- they simply stream massive amounts of data to a database, server or cloud storage location for warehousing and possible future analytics. Onstream's framework immediately creates intelligent actions from the relevant data, driving responsive device behavior. Device manufacturers and solution providers use the Onstream technology, to enrich their products into differentiated, feature-rich, configurable intelligent devices, all without any hard-coding or additional human management.

The Nevada-based technology company, backed by $2 million in funding from Traynor Family Enterprise, can tap into under-used data streaming from connected devices, making intelligence creation immediate for many companies and device manufacturers.

"Companies are searching for an easily deployable, scalable, and advanced solution to their device intelligence needs," said Craig Macy, CEO of Onstream. "The flexibility of Onstream's framework and its ability to drive device behavior from existing data streams makes it an immediate solution for a wide range of industries and device manufacturers."

Onstream offers:

  • Extensible Device Intelligence
  • Real-time device control
  • Near-device data transformation
  • Comprehensive device, user and data security
  • Flexible and Scalable Device Management
  • No Hardware or Platform Lock-in
  • Accelerated Time to Market
  • Low-Cost, Low-Risk Pricing

The framework is designed for OEMs (original electronics manufacturers) and solution providers seeking to create device intelligence from existing data streams or creating products that can be automatically updated with new product features.

The architecture allows low-latency data processing and the ability to process and manage enormous amounts of data with sub-second response times.

The company's framework has been deployed to create smart traffic controls at a complex mine operation, saving a mining company more than $700,000 in a single year in fuel, vehicle maintenance and mine efficiency. The technology will also soon be used to drive intelligence in sporting equipment, wine-making, hydration systems, and industrial operations.

Onstream, headed by executives with experience at Microsoft, Agile Software Corporation, and Haws Corporation, will hold a full demonstration on the capabilities of its framework at the IoT Evolution Conference and Expo in Las Vegas August 17th through 20th.
