REMINDER/48-Hour Lasalle Causeway Bridge Closure from 12:01 A.M. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, to 11:59 P.M. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015

KINGSTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Aug. 24, 2015) - Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise motorists, boaters, pedestrians and cyclists that the LaSalle Causeway will be closed from 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, to 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015.

This closure is necessary to complete a structural repair that will ensure the continued safe operation of the bridge.

A complimentary taxi shuttle service will be made available to drive pedestrians to either side of the bridge via Highway 401 during the closure. Boats less than four meters in height above the waterline can pass through the causeway via the east bridge.

The closure has been scheduled in consultation with the City of Kingston and the Province of Ontario to ensure the least possible inconvenience. The schedule will change only if warranted by circumstances such as inclement weather.

Safety is a top priority for PWGSC, and we are committed to ensuring the continued integrity of the bridges we manage. We apologize for any inconvenience these road and marine traffic restrictions may cause and thank users for their patience.
