48-Hour LaSalle Causeway Bridge Closure

Extended until 7:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015

KINGSTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Aug. 26, 2015) - Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise motorists, boaters, pedestrians and cyclists that the LaSalle Causeway closure has been extended up to 7 hours and will reopen on or before 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015.

The additional hours are necessary due to more extensive repair work required.

The complimentary taxi shuttle service will continue to drive pedestrians to either side of the bridge via Highway 401 during the extended closure. Boats less than four metres in height above the waterline can pass through the causeway via the east bridge.

Safety is a top priority for PWGSC, and we are committed to ensuring the continued integrity of the bridges we manage. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank users for their continued patience.
