The Boston Consulting Group Acquires Stake in TSG Consulting

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwired - Aug 27, 2015) - The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) today announced that it has acquired a minority stake in TSG Consulting, one of the world's leading advanced-analytics firms specializing in simulation and optimization. The size of the stake and the investment were not disclosed.

An exclusive strategic partnership between the two firms will bring leading-edge advanced modeling capabilities to a broader range of clients worldwide, according to both firms.

TSG Consulting, with a heritage in mining and resources, was formed in 1999 to model mining capital investments. Today, its capabilities -- which extend across capital and operations modeling in mining and resources, health care, and transportation, as well as emerging experience in telecommunications, manufacturing, and building materials -- include the following:

• Dynamic simulation
• Optimization
• Scheduling
• Advanced analytics and statistical modeling
• Decision support
