MULTIMEDIA UPDATE - Leading Regional Orthopedic, Pain Treatment and Physical Therapy Group Adds Spine Specialist to Team

OrthoMaryland(TM) Welcomes Orthopedic Spine Surgeon, Bradley W. Moatz, M.D.

BALTIMORE, MD--(Marketwired - Sep 1, 2015) - OrthoMaryland, the region's provider of comprehensive orthopedic, sports medicine and functional restoration care announces the addition of spine specialist Bradley W. Moatz, M.D. to their spine team.

Dr. Moatz graduated with Honors and High Distinction from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and from Penn State College of Medicine with Honors, before completing his residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. He then received a Spine Fellowship from prestigious Emory University in Atlanta, GA. The Emory Orthopaedics and Spine Center offers spine fellows a wide variety of clinical experience including degenerative, trauma, deformity, tumor and infection surgeries. He is a member of The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.

Dr. Moatz realized he wanted to pursue a career in orthopedic medicine during his orthopedic rotation in medical school. Of selecting orthopedics versus other types of medicine, he said, "I enjoyed working with patients who had a variety of musculoskeletal problems, such as degenerative joint disease, traumatic fractures or spinal stenosis. Each day brought new challenges -- from learning to diagnose a sprained ankle in clinic, to casting a fracture in the emergency department or assisting in total knee replacement surgery. I still feel a great sense of accomplishment and joy when I help restore a patient's function and improve their quality of life."

Robert Riederman, M.D., OrthoMaryland president said: "Brad is a spine expert and a talented, compassionate physician. I know our patients will benefit from his extensive experience in all areas of spine orthopedics as well as his personalized approach to care. We're excited to welcome him to the OrthoMaryland team."

Dr. Moatz' practice at OrthoMaryland encompasses treatment of a wide range of spinal conditions, covering all levels of the spine. His special clinical interest is degenerative conditions. He performs a variety of spine surgery procedures ranging from limited incision, minimally-invasive surgery to complex multi-level reconstruction surgery. He offers appointments at all three of OrthoMaryland's Maryland locations -- Baltimore at Quarry Lake, Lutherville and Owings Mills.
