Medecision Appoints Kathleen D'Amario Chief Technology Officer

WAYNE, PA--(Marketwired - September 03, 2015) - Medecision, a leader in population health management solutions for risk-bearing entities, including provider- and payer-sponsored accountable care organizations; hospitals; integrated delivery networks; and commercial and Medicaid, Medicare and Medicare Advantage health plans, today announced the appointment of Kathleen D'Amario to the role of senior vice president and chief technology officer (CTO). D'Amario most recently served as senior vice president, chief architect, at Medecision and will continue to report to Deborah Gage, Medecision president and CEO.

D'Amario moves into the CTO role at a time when healthcare organizations of all types are transitioning to bear or share risk and sustainably manage population health. They are investing in secure and flexible population health management platforms, smarter and leaner workflow tools, and engagement applications that interoperate across newly broad care teams. As Medecision's clients raise the bar on the effectiveness and breadth of clinical decision support, Medecision raises the bar on the flexibility and performance of the core technologies.

Accordingly, D'Amario has an impressive track record, including leading technology design and development with a focus on meeting the complex business needs of diverse clients. She joined Medecision in 2009 to help direct the re-write of the Company's core solution to be modern, open, and web services- and standards-based, ultimately creating and successfully migrating customers to Aerial™, a leading cloud-based population health management platform delivered through a SaaS model, that achieved new levels of scale, performance and reliability, and continues to increase the Company's competitiveness and market opportunity. D'Amario will lead the transformation of Aerial to provide big data, analytics and workflow technology that serves as the foundation for insights-driven care management and care coordination applications, as well as tools to enable health information transparency and engagement.

Beyond her years with Medecision, D'Amario brings years of proven success and a wealth of knowledge in architecting and developing scalable SaaS products and healthcare IT platforms from previous roles at CIGNA Corporation, ING, Aetna Retirement Services and Mass Mutual.

"Kathy brings vision, clarity and maturity to our software delivery execution," said Gage. "She is an unabashed champion of trustworthy, predictable product deliveries and will direct the product roadmap definition and execution against milestones while providing platform architecture leadership during Medecision's growth and expansion."

"Medecision possesses a collaborative culture led by a passionate and driven executive team," said D'Amario. "We are poised to deliver technology capabilities and tools that bring significant value to payers and providers as they share risk management and drive toward impacting the Triple Aim. I am excited to take the technology helm at a time when healthcare is transforming before our eyes toward collaborative, connected care."

D'Amario is hiring additional team members for the Company's growing network of innovators, including a senior vice president of development and architecture, and other senior program management leaders. Check here for a list of open opportunities.
