Bulk Barn Holds Their 11th Annual Alzheimer Society Coffee Break(R) Fundraiser

AURORA, ON--(Marketwired - September 04, 2015) - Bulk Barn Foods Limited is proud to support the Alzheimer Society Coffee Break® fundraiser in benefiting individuals with dementia and their family members.

Bulk Barn is supporting the program by collecting donations at stores nationwide through the sale of Coffee Break® decals during the period of September 4 - September 21, 2015. Each customer's signature on a decal recognizes their donation of at least $1.00 and these are proudly mounted on the wall behind the cash registers. All the money collected goes directly to local Alzheimer Societies to support people in those communities.

According to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, over 747,000 Canadians live with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias and that number is expected to reach well over one million over the next 20 years, a fact that highlights the importance of this cause. Bulk Barn has supported the Alzheimer Society over the past 11 years, with all stores from coast to coast participating in the fundraising annually. In that time they have been able to raise a total of over $1.9 million.

"We are very grateful to Bulk Barn, their staff and customers for their long-standing commitment to our work and for being champions in the face of this disease. As more and more people are affected by dementia, it is indeed caring supporters like Bulk Barn who will pave the way for a brighter future for all," says Mimi Lowi-Young, CEO, Alzheimer Society of Canada.
