Seasonal Closure of Canadian Coast Guard Inshore Rescue Boat Stations

The Canadian Coast Guard advises the public that the seasonal inshore rescue boat stations located in Bainsville (Ontario), Pointe-aux-Anglais (Oka), Beaconsfield, Longueuil, Sorel and Trois-Rivières are beginning to wrap up their annual summer activities. All the stations will be operational until Monday September 7, 2015, 8 p.m. Thereafter, Sorel's rescue station will continue to operate during September's first two weekends (12-13 and 19-20) from noon to 8 p.m.

These inshore rescue boat stations have been operational since May 28 - the start of the peak boating season on sailing areas in Quebec.

Marine emergencies can be called into the Canadian Coast Guard's Marine Rescue Sub-Centre 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at 1-800-463-4393 or 418-648-3599, or the Marine Communications and Traffic Services Centre by VHF radio (channel 16) or by dialing *16 on a cell phone.
